CONCEPT OF DOWER (MAHR) IN ISLAMIC LAW

                 ( DOWER)   VARIOUS DEFINITIONS OF DOWER:   1)     ACCORDING TO FATAWA ALAMGIRI:   “Dower is an obligation imposed by   law on the husband as a mark of respect for the wife”.   2)     ACCORDING TO MULLA: “ A sum of money or other property which the wife is entitled to receive from husband in consideration of marriage”.   3)     ACCORDING TO ABDUR RAHIM; “Mahr” (Dower) is either a sum of money or other form of property to which the wife becomes entitled by marriage”. HOW THE ISSUE OF LOST GOODS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED UNDER THE LAW OF CONTRACT. WHAT ARE THE RIGHTS AND DUTIES OF FINDER WHO FINDS GOODS BELONGING TO ANOTHER? WHO IS FINDER OF GOODS ? The finder of the lost goods is a person who finds the goods of another person presumably not knowing the true owner at that time.  For Example,  A found a wallet belonging to B on the road, A picked the purse. Here, A is the finder of the goods. WHAT IS LOST AND HOW IT IS LOST?  The answer is the goods are lost when the owner has involuntarily parted with the possession of the goods and that he is ignorant of its location. However owner intentionally places the goods somewhere so that it can be found again in due course, but the owner subsequently forgets where it was placed, it can be said the goods are lost.
